about

A spin-off album. Aqdas presents a semi-live experience as the artist returns to his original ambient guitar style to deliver a 36-minute composition in a single take.

The composition itself is based around the 9 divine messengers in the Baha'i Faith (Krishna, Zoroaster, Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Muhammad, The Bab, and Baha'u'llah) and named after the Faith's most important book. It gradually changes tone as it progresses through the progressive revelation presented by each figure.

The composition is presented in its raw form and the artist apologises for bugs and engineering problems that have occurred due to the type of live recording.

Fleeting Smile is Ryan Smith, minimalist composer from Ontario, Canada. He primarily uses keyboards, but augments them with guitar and other devices.

The artist now creates mostly in the art-pop realm, but has the odd ambient lapse now and then.

Fleeting Smile's latest works return to his early style, albeit more polished, with ambient releases Aqdas and the latest, Spinner.
